Border Jaeger BattaÂlion monument
Monument dedicated to Border Jaeger BattaÂlions 4 and 5.

Border Jaeger commeÂmoÂraÂtive plaque
A commeÂmoÂraÂtive plaque to honour fallen border jaegers at a SotilasÂkoti (Soldiers’ Home). The SotilasÂkoti building is open to the public and visitors from outside the garrison. See the RajasoÂtiÂlasÂkoti (Border Soldiers’ Home) Facebook page for inforÂmaÂtion on opening hours.
RajapeÂrinne (Border Heritage) memorial stone
A memorial stone dedicated to wartime border jaeger troops at the place where the border jaeger company departed for the war.

Onttola flight activities
During the war, Flying Squadron 33 and Aviation Depot 3 operated in the Onttola area and utilised Onttola airfield. The headquarÂters were located in the village of Onttola. No special monument in the village area.
Höytiäinen canal
World War I ditches built by the Russians on the eastern shore of Höytiäinen canal. Note! The site is difficult to access and parts of it are in a private area.

A Salpa Line stone quarry
Rock from this area along Höytiäinen canal was quarried to produce stones for the Salpa Line anti-tank obstacles.

Onttola airfield memorial stone
To commeÂmoÂrate those who served in the air force units. Located at the west end of the airfield building. Units based in Onttola included Field Flight Depot 3. Various support functions, such as the Central PhotoÂgraphy LaboraÂtory for Flying Units, were also located in the area.
Anti-shrapnel shelters for aircraft
During the ContiÂnuaÂtion War, the Joensuu region was the primary base for the Finnish Bomber Command. Seven anti-shrapnel shelters were built for Junkers bombers on the southern and western sides of the field.

ReconÂstructed shelter and inforÂmaÂtion board
Seven anti-shrapnel shelters were built in the airfield area. One reconÂstructed shelter and an inforÂmaÂtion board are located on the western side of the airfield.

Knight of the MannerÂheim Cross birth home and commeÂmoÂraÂtive plaque: Lauri Kokko, Onttola
A commeÂmoÂraÂtive plaque honouÂring the Knights of the MannerÂheim Cross was placed on the wall of this home in the 1990s. This is a private area, and access is restricted.
Machine gun nests, PuntaÂriÂkosÂkentie road
Machine gun nests are visible in a few places as part of the Salpa Line positions. Some of the sites are in a private area, and access is restricted.
